Cafe Gitane’s second locaton is tucked away inside the Jane Hotel. I love coming here on Sunday’s because it’s bright, laid back and chill. The retro feel and diverse menu (couscous, pastries, eggs, sandwiches, pasta, meatballs) makes it a brunch staple.

It’s been a while since I’ve had such an amazing dining experience. The food was fantastic! Chef Daniel Humm (formerly of Eleven Madison Park) exhibits an awesome display of inventive and well executed dishes. The service and decor were equally impressive.
We had the pleasure of dining in the Parlour which is off to the side of the atrium and lively bar area. It was dark and sexy with red textured fabrics, and perfectly lit.

Danny Meyers and Chef Floyd Cardoz have taken their talents to the southern tip of Manhattan- Battery Park City. North End Grill is a casual, open, chic, modern resto stocked with a stylish dining room, vibrant bar area and open kitchen. The vibe and aesthetic lends itself to business lunches/dinners, gatherings for locals, and weekend brunch.
The American menu with eclectic and classic options delivers flavorful and skillfully prepared dishes. I was a big fan of the egg section. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area.
