I was visiting my mom in BK on Saturday and we hit up her neighborhood Japanese spot in Park Slope.
It’s pretty low key with terrific prices and awesome service. The dishes were innovative and creative.
Caramel Apple Bread Pudding- brioche soaked in creme brulee custard and layered with caramelized apples. Served with warm caramel run raisin sauce.
This was so decadent! Crunchy on the outside, and soft and smooth on the inside. The caramel sauce was definitely the icing on the cake- no pun intended.

CHOW CRAVE: Cupcakes from Crumbs (@crumbsbakeshop)
My girl Piper just went for a Sweet Spot run and came back with my fave- a Peanut Butter Cup Cupcake and she got herself a Halloween Sprinkle Cupcake! YUMMMMY
I always have a great time at L’Artusi- it’s one of my FAVES! I also adore their sister restaurant- Dell’anima. Both are spots you must visit!!!!
The seasonal Italian menu has a few essentials and some creative dishes. I usually go with a group so we start off by sharing a few of the small to medium plates, then dive into our entrees. There are so many great things on the menu that my CHOW FAVES are going to look like I included the entire menu.
The Lion opened up about 5 months ago with celeb chef John DeLucie (from the Waverly Inn) at the helm.
I’ve been to the Lion about half a dozen times and always have a great experience. The bar is usually packed with a lot of suits, and as you descend upon the dining room, you quickly see that it’s not all about the suits….it’s about the celebs.
CELEB SIGHTINGS: Janet Jackson, Cindy Crawford, Leo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, John Mayer and more!
And there’s more eye candy….You can marvel at Basquiat’s “Rome Pays Off”!
