I was visiting my mom in BK on Saturday and we hit up her neighborhood Japanese spot in Park Slope.

It’s pretty low key with terrific prices and awesome service. The dishes were innovative and creative.

CHOW FAVES:

-Miso soup: It had a kick to it- plus mushrooms (not the norm but I welcomed it). I wiped the bowl clean.

-Pork potstickers- Cooked to perfection. The combination of soy sauce, mustard and hot pepper sauce really blended nicely to create a great coating for the potstickers.

-Almond crusted trout bento box- Served with salad, california roll and brown rice. Overall it was pretty tasty but the fish was slightly over-cooked.

-Scallops with black bean sauce bento box- Served with salad, california roll and brown rice. I love scallops, and the black bean sauce was a nice addition.

-Sushi- The crunchy spicy salmon roll was great!
