Horray for Hotel Griffou!
Hotel Griffou is definitely one of my faves! I love the vibe, food and decor (every room has a different theme)! They have a new chef (David Santos) at the helm so I was excited to try the new menu…..and David didn’t disappoint! We enjoyed everything! Actually, we enjoyed it so much that I forgot to take pictures (I did manage to get a shot of our dessert a few bites in). Don’t worry- I’m due back next week for a business dinner so I’ll snap a few shots then, and add it to this post.
CHOW FAVES: We had a heavenly spread!
-Scallops with mushrooms- The scallops were tender and juicy, and the bosc pear vinaigrette was delicious.
-Tagliolini with butternut squash and pumpkin seeds- It melted in my mouth- so silky and yummy. I prefer savory dishes, and thought this might be a bit sweet because of the squash but it was fantastic!
-Lobster with brussels sprouts and a maple bacon reduction- This was like candy- so good. I couldn’t get enough. The lobster was fresh and blended well with everything on the plate.
-Sea Bass with leeks and black trumpet mushrooms- The skin was crispy and added an nice dimension to the bass.
-Halibut with escarole and balsamic glaze- This was equally as good as the bass. So succulent.
SIP: A side car. They have great cocktails!
THE SWEET SPOT: Salted caramel banana pudding- This is to die for……I don’t love sweets but this is a “MUST HAVE”. I get it every time!
CHAT: Hotel Griffou is great for any occasion. It’s fun, romantic and sexy! Oh, and there’s always a good crowd with celeb sightings. This particular night, Kate Winslet sat at a neighboring table. Also, there’s a quaint wine cellar that’s perfect for private events.
