Caviar & Cocktails
It’s mostly about “THE SIP” in this post. I went to the ultra-charming new cocktail lounge, Weather Up in Tribeca on Monday night. I’m glad this Brooklyn-born spot decided to cross the bridge. When you first walk in, to the right is the bar, and part of it is laced with all the fixin’s for a mixologist to get busy. The spot isn’t small but definitely has a personal feel. You almost feel like you’re hanging out at a friend’s apartment.
This swank cocktail lounge features 6 standard cocktails plus a bartender’s choice, 6 wines, beers on tap, champagne, and in the early evening, a martini list.
There isn’t a formal printed menu but the bartender recited it with vigor! The snack menu consists of oyster service, ceviche, chips, caviar (everything from trout to the pricey stuff), and broccoli rillette.
We tried the broccoli rillette with a side of crab, creme fraiche, and toast. It was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! We wiped the bowls clean. By the end, we were calling the broccoli rillete vegetarian caviar. Next time, I’ll indulge in the caviar service. I love caviar!
