DINNER WITH CHEF JOHN DELUCIE FROM THE LION: HIS SIP, CHAT, & CHOW…
My friend Julie and I had dinner at The Lion with Chef John DeLucie last week. John is certainly taming the Lion! He has created an amazing restaurant off the heels of his time as executive chef at The Waverly Inn. John is an awesome guy and chef!
Dinner was filled with fabulous food, great conversation, scrumptious cocktails, and a celebration. John just opened his new resto in Miami-The Royal at The Raleigh Hotel. He’s bringing his down home American-style-fare to South Beach!
Every night at The Lion, it’s a ” who’s who” of celebs, and this night was no different. Fashion royalty was in the house- Calvin Klein and Carolina Herrera.
We had all of John’s CHOW FAVES:
Tuna Tartare: The ginger-lime tartare was a pleasant way to start the meal.
Branzino: The skin added a nice texture to the tasty dish.
Lamb: I didn’t get a picture because we were deep in conversation and I forgot. It was juicy and flavorful.
THE SWEET SPOT:
Apple Pie: The apples were super fresh, and the dish as a whole wasn’t too sweet.
