This trifecta of a resto is the best! There’s a cafe (very chill), taqueria (open 24/7), and the subterranean brasserie (after checking in with the person with the clipboard, you have to go down the narrow stairs and through the kitchen to get to it).

The Cafe

Taqueria

Brasserie

This Mexican hipster hideaway never disappoints. The vibe is dope, the food is delish, and the playlist (usually a DJ) always has me groovin’! I recommend this spot to everyone for just about any occasion. I’ve been going for over 5 years and it never gets old.

CHOW FAVES (at the Brasserie): I have sooooo many! They put a modern twist on traditional Mexican food.

-Grilled Corn with Cheese: It melts in your mouth! I usually get down to the very last kernel. It could be a bit messy but it’s worth it!

-Ceviche Acapulco: Market fish, tomato, avocado, jalapeno and lime. It’s so light and fresh.

-Empanada de Chorizo: One of my faves. The chorizo is nice and spicy.

-Tostadas (crispy tortillas- 3 per order): One big bite of yumminess!

-Raw tuna

-Crabmeat

-Octopus

-Chicken

-Taquitos (2 soft tacos): Great flavors and accompaniments!

-Steak

-Chicken

-Fish

-Pulled pork

-Shrimp

-The Grilled Shrimp: A great lighter option.

-Rotisserie Chicken: It’s standard. There are much better things on the menu. I actually prefer the small plates over the entrees.

SIP: La Esquina has over 130 kinds of tequila. So, I’m sure by now you’ve deduced that a margarita(s) is a must!

THE SWEET SPOT: I usually stick with a cocktail but I love the bread pudding here!

CHAT: The brasserie is only open for dinner but you can hit up the taqueria or cafe for lunch/brunch. It’s pretty hard to get a ressie so plan ahead. And…. there’s an unlisted # for the brasserie. I’m so glad I have it because it makes it much easier to get a table!

Girl’s Night Out- from one of the many nights at La Esquina!
