Top Sip, Chat, & Chow Spot: Scarpetta
Scott Conant’s Meatpacking District Italian resto, Scarpetta offers food for every palate. He presents a high-end atmosphere without being stuffy. The dining room is always buzzing. Scarpetta is a beautiful space with amazing wine and terrific food. It’s always a worthwhile experience!
Scott found a formula and he’s sticking with it! He followed up New York’s success with opening Scarpetta in Toronto, Miami, Las Vegas, and LA.
MY CHOW FAVES:
Let’s start with the yummy bread basket.
Tuna Susci with Marinated Veggies- The fish is fresh and served beautifully.
Scallops with Mushrooms- Seared to perfection!
Polenta with Truffled Mushrooms- Hands down the best polenta I’ve ever had….silky, smooth, and creamy.
Short Ribs with Farro- The flavor combination is fantastic!
Duck and Foie Gras Ravioli- Rich but not too heavy.
Spaghetti with Tomato and Basil- Sounds simple but it’s simply delicious!
Branzino- Crispy on top and flaky on the inside.
MY SIP: Impressive wine list with many reasonably priced selections.
CHAT: Scarpetta has a pretty extensive vegetarian menu.
I like starting things off here, then usually head to Soho House for a cocktail. After that, if I want to go out, I hit up one of the MEPA/Chelsea standards- Boom Boom/Le Bain, SL, Darby, 1Oak, Avenue, etc.
