The bright and vivacious South American, Nuevo Latino resto is great for groups. It has a loft-like, clubby feel…and as you can see from the picture below, very fiery!
The eclectic, broad menu (primarily designed for sharing) offers great Modern Latin dishes that range from ceviche, to skewers, to empanadas, arepas, poached lobster, and a paella-type dish with duck. The portions are on the small side so order accordingly.
This West Village locavore restaurant gets food from their roof- it makes up 60% of their ingredients. Everything else comes from regional farms and producers.

Sparks is an old-world NY masculine, pricey, Italian-style steakhouse. It’s part of NYC’s mobster history (mob boss Paul Castellanos was gunned down here by Gotti’s henchmen back in 1985) which gives it cachet.
This wise guy of a steakhouse was good but I prefer the “All Stars”- Del Frisco’s, Dylan Prime, Strip House, Wolfgang’s, Keens, etc. You should definitely give it a try though, if you love steak!
Sparks offers top quality steaks, descent sides, and mediocre service.
