Sparks Steak House: Old School Style
Sparks is an old-world NY masculine, pricey, Italian-style steakhouse. It’s part of NYC’s mobster history (mob boss Paul Castellanos was gunned down here by Gotti’s henchmen back in 1985) which gives it cachet.
This wise guy of a steakhouse was good but I prefer the “All Stars”- Del Frisco’s, Dylan Prime, Strip House, Wolfgang’s, Keens, etc. You should definitely give it a try though, if you love steak!
Sparks offers top quality steaks, descent sides, and mediocre service.
Tomato Wedges with Roquefort Cheese Dressing: Delicious!
Oysters: Plump and meaty.
Sirlion- The house fave! Perfectly grilled- slightly charred on the outside. The cut had enough fat to give it real flavor.
Lobster: Succulent and juicy!
Hash Browns: Rich, soft, and crispy.
THE SWEET SPOT: Both desserts were pretty standard.
Walnut Pie a la Mode
SIP: Excellent wine selection.
CHAT: A good spot for a Guy’s Night Out- Drinks, cigars, and flat screens at the bar pre or post dinner.
Sparks- 210 East 46th St / 212-687-4855
