Recette specializes in small plates with unique pairings and flavors for brunch and dinner. My girls and I hit up Recette for brunch last Sunday, and we welcomed the laid back feel. The cozy, quaint resto offers novel brunch options and good desserts from a Per Se alum. We didn’t get to try the Burrata Grilled Cheese or PB&J but it’s on my list for next time.
CHOW FAVES:
Oatmeal with Bananas, Berries and Sweet Cream- Creamy and decadent with a good consistency.
Rock Shrimp Egg White Frittata- Quite bland. The frittata on the menu wasn’t available.
Salt Cod Fritters- The pairing with lamb ragu was great- so much flavor.
Grilled Chorizo, Cheesy Grits, Fried Eggs- A very savory dish.
Duck Fat Fingerlings- Crispy and tasty.
THE SWEET SPOT:
Beignets- Definitely has potential but it was a bit undercooked.
SIP:
Classic Recette – Sparkling wine, brown sugar, bitters and lemon.
Recette- 328 West 12th Street /212-414-3000
