Sant Ambroeus in the West Village has always been a lunch time go-to spot for me especially on a nice day because of the great outdoor seating. You can count on them for solid pasta dishes, yummy sweets (gelato and pastries), a perfect espresso and a touch of Italian glamour in a casual setting – and the same holds true for the original Upper East Side location. I recently went there for lunch following a morning at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum where I saw breathtaking pieces from the Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry exhibit.

CHOW FAVES:

Tuna Tartare- A delicious classic.

Spaghetti with Shrimp & Zucchini – The sauce was tangy and a little spicy- a solid dish.

Artichoke & Ricotta Ravioli- Smooth, tasty and light, especially for ravioli.

THE SWEET SPOT:

Creamy Gelato
