Hudson Street is turning into Restaurant Row… in a good way! We can add Spasso (sister resto to L’Artusi and Dell’Anima) to the likes of Hudson Clearwater, En Japanese Brasserie, RedFarm, Caliu, Bistro de la Gare, Frankies 570 and Takashi.

Spasso is a cozy, low-key Italian resto in the West Village perfect for date night or a casual dinner with friends. The service was a bit off at this rustic resto but the food made up for it. Their pasta game is tight- handmade, simple, clean and tasty.

Housemade Stracciatella Cheese- It’s delicious even sans the bread- heavenly!

Mussels- Plump, juicy and tasty.

Fusilli with Pork Ragu, Goat cheese and Mint- One of my favorite dishes on the menu….it was a bowl of goodness with a great balance of flavors.

Spring Pea and Prawn Ravioli- Cooked to perfection with terrific texture. The breadcrumbs topping added a nice finish.

Mushrooms- It had a smoky brick-oven taste that left me wanting more.
