Sanaa Lathan recently wrapped “By The Way, Meet Vera Stark” and can be seen in the movie Contagion – the 2011 American thriller film directed by Steven Soderbergh. Next up is Vipaka, a Voodoo Psycho Thriller with Forest Whitaker and Anthony Mackie. Even though Sanaa has been extremely busy, she always finds time for a great dining experience.
Sanaa Lathan’s Sip, Chat, Chow:
Tricia: What’s your favorite Sip- restaurant that has a great wine and/or cocktail menu?
Sanaa: There’s so many to choose from but I’d have to say AGO. It’s a delicious Italian spot in West Hollywood with a great patio. The Peach Martini has fresh peaches and is to die for.
Tricia: What’s Favorite Chow- restaurant for dinner?
Sanaa: After shooting in New Orleans for the summer, where everything is fried with cream sauce on top, I’ve been trying to eat clean. I’ve been going to Vegan Plate in Studio City. I love the Seaweed Soup.
Tricia: What’s your current Chow Crave?
Sanaa: I can’t live without Mozza Pizzeria. The Squash Blossom Pizza is pretty amazing but I love everything on the menu.
Tricia: What’s your Favorite restaurant for a night out with your girls?
Sanaa: Casa Vega is an old school traditional mexican restaurant in Sherman Oaks with the BEST Margaritas. My new favorite is the Blood Orange Margarita on the rocks with salt.
Tricia: What Favorite restaurant for a Fun Night Out?
Sanaa: A fun night out is great food and good company and that could be at any of the above restaurants… I didn’t mention my favorite Japanese spots though! It’s a tie between Katsuya in Studio City and Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills. Both classics and so delicious.
Tricia: Who would you like to go to dinner with – dead or alive?
Sanaa: I’d have to say James Baldwin. He’s my favorite author. One of the truly great artists of the 20th century and was so ahead of his time.
Tricia: What’s your favorite junk food/candy?
Sanaa: Lately its Breyer’s Oreo ice cream. YUM!
