Inventive Italian At Bigoli
Chef Alessandro (Alex) Stratta brings a little Vegas to NYC by way of his new rustic Italian resto in the West Village, Bigoli. The food and service were on point, and I fell in love with the skylight that’s in the middle of the dining room.
Our senses were piqued as soon as we sat down because of the wood-burning oven. We sampled a wide range of items from Stratta’s inventive Italian menu that left us wanting more…especially the pesto dipping sauce.
Pesto Dipping Sauce- One of the best I’ve had because it wasn’t too overpowering.
Burrata- Creamy and smooth.
Chopped Salad- Standard.
Seppia Salad- Crispy…laced with a nice kick.
Chickpea Fries- Unique texture and flavor…well done!
Watercress Risotto with Mushrooms- Delicious!
Short Ribs- Incredibly tender!
Prime Ribeye- Well prepared.
THE SWEET SPOT:
Cheesecake- I wasn’t a fan. The sauce tasted like fluoride. This was the only disappointing part of the evening.
