Pylos is super cute and cozy! I really love the vibe, food and ceiling of clay pots! Pylos delivers a collection of traditional Greek classics along with a few creative dishes in a cool environment in the East Village.
Make a ressie, or take a chance and you might score a spot at the communal table.
CHOW FAVES:
Poikilia- Spread sampler which consisted of taramousalata, taziki and eggplant dip. You can’t go wrong with this trio!
Saganaki Tou Merakli - 3 Greek cheeses melted in a clay pot. A Cheese party! It’s like pizza without the bread and sauce. Ah-mazing!
Horiatiki- A classic Greek Salad….didn’t disappoint.
Garides Ouzo- Grilled Shrimp perfectly seasoned.
Htapothi Scharas- Octopus- well balanced flavors.
Branzino- Delicious!
Tsigarellia- Spinach with feta.
SIP:
THE SWEET SPOT:
Christos’ Towering Galaktobourekakia- Phyllo triangles filled with greek custard and drizzled with cinnamon and greek mountain honey…light and not too sweet.
