I checked out Ken & Cook during private previews last week with a crew of good friends. It’s unanimous- this is a spot for the scene and cuisine!
The American Brasserie has a great vibe…the exposed brick, sleek bar display, airy feel, and downstairs lounge makes for Nolita’s latest HOT SPOT!
Richard Diamonte, a Jean-Georges alum (former executive sous-chef) delivers a wide-range of American classics with a unique touch. We had a tasting of the entire menu and I was impressed.
Chow Faves:
Grilled Squid Salad- Amazing texture and flavor.
Beet Salad- Bold and tangy.
Arugula Salad with Parmesan- A great start to the meal.
Oysters Rockefeller- Fresh and satisfying. They will offer an extensive raw bar.
Steak Tartar- Pure goodness!
Short Ribs- Tender and tasty.
Fried Chicken with Biscuits- Finger licking good!
Wagyu Burger- Juicy and well seasoned.
Monkfish and Sea Bass- No pictures because it was rotated around the table before I could get a shot. Both dishes were well prepared and delicious.
Fettuccine with Cauliflower- Strikingly good.
Pappardelle with Veal Ragu- Nice flavor profile.
SIP:
THE SWEET SPOT:
We had a bevy of desserts- my favorites were the apple pie and beignets!
