Hudson Street is turning into Restaurant Row… in a good way! We can add Spasso (sister resto to L’Artusi and Dell’Anima) to the likes of Hudson Clearwater, En Japanese Brasserie, RedFarm, Caliu, Bistro de la Gare, Frankies 570 and Takashi.
Spasso is a cozy, low-key Italian resto in the West Village perfect for date night or a casual dinner with friends. The service was a bit off at this rustic resto but the food made up for it. Their pasta game is tight- handmade, simple, clean and tasty.

We can add another “HIT” to Daniel Boulud’s empire. Boulud Sud is one of the best performances around Lincoln Center. The room exudes a clean, casual elegance with a high comfort level. Boulud Sud delivers a wonderful collection of inspired Mediterranean dishes (wandering to Italy, France, Spain, Greece and Turkey ) that are beautifully plated. There were so many enticing things on the menu, so we decided to go with a few shareable snacks and large plates.

As I walked into Aldea, I felt as though I was at a friend’s home awaiting a lovely dinner party. The low lighting, clean lines and relaxed atmosphere really sets the tone for an intimate evening. Oh, and they’ll seat you even if your entire party isn’t there. This is a rare occurrence in NYC.

You can see Chef George Mendes in action by requesting a table with a view into the open kitchen. This is where he constructs a great representation of new and traditional fine Portuguese dishes.

Celebrity Chef Tom Colicchio delivers a dual dining experience at Colicchio & Sons in Mepa. The Tap Room is the more casual and affordable section, while the main dining room offers a fine dining experience with a towering wine rack separating the two. The rustic and elegant atmosphere coupled with fantastic service and a few solid dishes makes the Tap Room a good neighborhood option.

While the food at C&S didn’t blow my mind, the burger and fish stew were on point!

I love the vibe in the garden at David Burke Kitchen! The subterranean dining room is cool but during the summer the garden is the best option! There’s a lounge/bar area, open air tables and cabanas reminiscent of South Beach.

In true David Burke fashion, he delivers inventive and inspiring New American cuisine that is whimsical and tasty. The creative menu and chic urban garden makes it one of NYC’s go-to-spots this summer.
