This cute West Village resto is full of charm and character. All elements are achieved at the lively yet low-key spot: unique vibe, cool atmosphere, good food, yummy cocktails and solid service. It’s about the whole experience here. The obscure entrance added a nice touch- behind the secret green door lives a gem! Upon entering, you have to walk through the garden patio (it will be huge this summer) to get to the split level rustic resto.
It felt like we were having dinner a friend’s apartment- a Really Cool Friend! We dined at the marble counter that is basically like a chef’s table. It was a delight to witness such precision, flare and flow in the kitchen.

The New American Locavore menu has a seasonal focus with a good blend of upscale and delicious dishes- fish, meat, poultry and outstanding veggie options! Our waitress was a bit of a foodie so she was very helpful and descriptive when going through the affordable menu- every entree was under $20- SCORE!

My twin sister and I went to an old friend’s birthday dinner on Saturday night at En Japanese Brasserie. I’m glad the festivities took place there because I was reintroduced to the modern and airy Japanese resto. I hadn’t been there in over 2 years. The night was filled with great conversations, cool peeps, terrific food and wonderful service.

En Japanese Brasserie is more than meets the eye. When you take time to review the menu you see that this authentic Japanese eatery has a very broad appeal. If you’re vegan, a vegetarian, in the mood for sushi or even fried chicken- they have it covered! There wasn’t anything I tried that I didn’t like.
The elegant yet laid back resto delivers creative and tasty tapas-style Japanese dishes in a unique setting. The open kitchen adds a level of excitement to the main dining room, and if you want something a bit more intimate, they have tatami rooms that are tucked away in the back.

En will definitely be added to my Japanese resto rotation. And the next time I go I’ll try the tofu!

I realized I didn’t have much of a selection of vegan/vegetarian options on Sip, Chat, Chow so I went straight to the source- my boss, Russell Simmons.

Ever wonder why Russell always looks so young, fit and healthy? Besides yoga, he credits his diet.
Check out his Vegan Sip, Chat, Chow!

This small Greek resto offers inventive dishes in a quaint environment. I usually go for lunch and it’s always a delight. The menu features small and large plates with a good selection of salads and vegetarian options.

CHOW FAVES:
Pikilia: Assortment of Spreads with Pita- Melitzanosalata, Taramosalata, Tzatziki. It’s a great way to start the meal. Taramosalata is my fave!

Greek Salad- The tomatoes were perfectly ripe and the feta was fantastic (the best I’ve had in a long time)!
