Sant Ambroeus in the West Village has always been a lunch time go-to spot for me especially on a nice day because of the great outdoor seating. You can count on them for solid pasta dishes, yummy sweets (gelato and pastries), a perfect espresso and a touch of Italian glamour in a casual setting – and the same holds true for the original Upper East Side location. I recently went there for lunch following a morning at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum where I saw breathtaking pieces from the Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry exhibit.

Adventures Of The Glam Foodie: En Japanese Brasserie

My twin sister and I went to an old friend’s birthday dinner on Saturday night at En Japanese Brasserie. I’m glad the festivities took place there because I was reintroduced to the modern and airy Japanese resto. I hadn’t been there in over 2 years. The night was filled with great conversations, cool peeps, terrific food and wonderful service.

En Japanese Brasserie is more than meets the eye. When you take time to review the menu you see that this authentic Japanese eatery has a very broad appeal. If you’re vegan, a vegetarian, in the mood for sushi or even fried chicken- they have it covered! There wasn’t anything I tried that I didn’t like.

The elegant yet laid back resto delivers creative and tasty tapas-style Japanese dishes in a unique setting. The open kitchen adds a level of excitement to the main dining room, and if you want something a bit more intimate, they have tatami rooms that are tucked away in the back.

En will definitely be added to my Japanese resto rotation. And the next time I go I’ll try the tofu!

I’m sure that you’ve realized by now that The Lion is one of my favorite spots. So, I was really happy when they added brunch to their weekend rotation. Brunch at the Lion was just what I expected it to be- American-style fare with a twist. There was a good balance of sweet and savory dishes on the menu.

Check out my complete review of The Lion and Chef John DeLucie’s Sip, Chat Chow.

I caught up with my girl Amber the other day when she was in New York and got her Sip, Chat, Chow! We had a lot to talk about because she has so much going on! She’s in talks with VH1 about a reality show, just signed on to be a part of the Foxxhole team- hosting a weekly radio show on Sirius XM, and so much more. It’s great to see her doing her thing. Congrats, QT! You deserve it all!

Amber loves to cook for her friends and family but when she’s ready for a night out- here are her favorite spots!
