It’s about time Chef David Burke headed downtown. His new subterranean resto in The James Hotel is rustic-chic with a menu influenced by local ingredients and eccentric touches.
David Burke is one of my faves- he puts a kitschy spin on upscale dishes. The inventive and playful menu presented at David Burke Kitchen didn’t disappoint. We had brunch there last Sunday and it was delicious. There’s something for everyone- eggs, salads, steak, fish, and a host of other treats.
I realized I didn’t have much of a selection of vegan/vegetarian options on Sip, Chat, Chow so I went straight to the source- my boss, Russell Simmons.
Ever wonder why Russell always looks so young, fit and healthy? Besides yoga, he credits his diet.
Check out his Vegan Sip, Chat, Chow!
Corsino has a great atmosphere- it’s rustic and lively. I love having an option like this amongst the other MEPA restos. Sometimes you just want to grab a bite at a low-key neighborhood spot that has a cool vibe- and Corsino fits the bill!
The tasty Italian tapas and large plates are fantastic!
It’s hard to score a table at the casual, bustling neighborhood Thai resto. As we checked in for our table, a group of 4 walked in and asked how long the wait was….the hostess replied “2 hours”. Wow!!!
Kin Shop has a very laid back feel but there’s definitely an energy in the room.
The chef and owner, Harold Dieterle – winner of the 1st season of Bravo’s Top Chef delivers an inventive Thai menu. We were excited to try so many dishes. Food is served family style so we shared everything. Some of the dishes were missing the robust flavor and spice I’m accustomed to in Thai cooking.
I went to see Prince last night at MSG….he was amazing!

After the show, we went to Schiller’s for noshing and cocktails.

CHOW FAVES of the evening: Oysters, Fries, Sliders, and Sticky Toffee Pudding.
SIP: Champagne and Cocktails.
A friend we were with is friends with Adrien Brody so he joined us, and I happened to be sitting right next to him at our table at Schiller’s. He’s a great guy. You know I had to get the Foodie 411 before the night was over, and I did! Here are a few restos Adrien spoke highly of….BTW- I’m in total agreement with his picks.
