Cleo is a Middle Eastern resto set in the Redbury Hotel in Hollywood. This spot hits the mark with their tasty Mediterranean tapas, vibrant atmosphere and terrific service.
Cleo has something for everyone- delicious dips, fresh seafood, veggies, well accessorized flatbreads and mouth-watering meat and poultry dishes. Every item that adorned our table was just as good as the last. Oh, and did I mention that a night out at Cleo won’t break the bank!
The sustainable seafood resto from former Top Chef contestant Sam Talbot is now open in the Mondrian Hotel in Soho. There are 2 dining rooms- and both are magnificent. The garden room makes you feel as though you walked into a fairytale while the back dining room is more modern. The place is gorgeous and stacked with chandeliers. And it’s not just about the looks here- the food and service are on point!
The menu is filled with seafood goodies that are meant to be shared. We were impressed with most of the dishes, and dessert was the cherry on top! Talbot delivers the classics and stuns you with an innovative spin on seafood fare (along with non-seafood and veggie options).
It was a stylish scene- the crowd was comprised of a mix of hotel guests, jet-setters, hipsters and cool peeps within a broad age range. And after dinner, a select few usually head next door to the opulent asian-inspired lounge- Mister H.
The upbeat and bustling dining room at Lavo is fully stocked with lively peeps (a mix of old and young), a resident DJ and a vivacious vibe. The energy in the room is just as big as the menu. You’ll find Italian standards like Baked Clams, Chicken Parm, Pasta, Steak and Pizza. The food is good, and the club downstairs gets poppin’! All and all, Lavo is a good midtown option. I’ve been to Lavo many times and it never disappoints (the kitchen stays open till 1a and 3a on the weekend)!
We went to Lavo last night with Milwaukee Bucks Guard Brandon Jennings and he loved the food and atmosphere.
Heather Mitts is a pro soccer player and 2 time Olympic gold medalist. I’m always intrigued by athletes and their eating habits and preferences….so I went straight to the athletic and outgoing soccer beauty to get her Sip, Chat, Chow!

Restaurant and nightlife impresario Serge Becker (of La Esquina, Cafe Select and The Box) has done it again! He created yet another spot with a cool-ass vibe, and put a hipster spin on ethnic food. This time it’s Miss Lily’s in the West Village/Soho. The low-key, kitschy-chic resto specializes in modern Jamaican/Caribbean cuisine. The menu is filled with traditional Jamaican staples with a twist. The food is rich, flavorful and tasty.
Miss Lily’s is more than a restaurant, it’s a highly curated scene. The front room has a diner feel while the back room is more edgy. The walls are laced with reggae album covers and the corner houses a resident DJ spinning Reggae, Soca and Calypso.
I went to Miss Lily’s this past weekend and I was really digging the vibe. The apps and the soundtrack were the real winners here!
