In no particular order, these were my top 15 spots (well, really 17…a mix of old and new) to Sip, Chat, & Chow this year. I’m sure I’ll be taking most of them into 2011.
1- Scarpetta: There’s something for every palate.

2- A Michael White Double: Marea and Osteria Morini.
Marea-Elegant Italian seafood heaven!
Osteria Morini- Casual Italian spot with old-world decor- serving up Italian goodness for every meal.
3- Corsino: Inventive small and large Italian plates in a charming atmosphere with a solid wine list.
4- Hotel Griffou: Cool vibe, tasty cocktails, and good grub!

5- L’Artusi: You’ll love everything- the food, decor, wine list, and service.

I was first introduced to Katsuya in Studio City perched inside of a strip mall 6 or 7 years ago. It was love at first bite! From that point on, every trip to LA included a meal at Katsuya. I still go to the original Katsuya in Studio City but usually hit up the one in Hollywood.
The super trendy hipster resto is filled with energy. I love the vibe, decor, food, and cocktails. Katsuya offers a wide selection of sushi, cooked food, and specialty dishes. Most of which is pretty on point.

I GOT THE SCOOP FROM DAWN RICHARD (DIDDY-DIRTY MONEY) BEFORE THEIR DOPE PERFORMANCE ON SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE. DAWN WAS EXCITED FOR THE PERFORMANCE AND THE RELEASE OF THEIR DEBUT ALBUM “LAST TRAIN TO PARIS”. Morimoto provides a great dining experience! I love everything about it….
-The modern and sleek decor
-Creative and tasty food
-A vast selection of cooked food and sushi/sashimi
-The cool and upbeat atmosphere
I have so many Chow Faves but I’ll try to restrain, and list my absolute Faves!
Spicy King Crab- It’s like crack. You can’t get enough. The tobanjan ailoi is terrific.
I had a double dose of sushi on Friday- and believe me, I was in heaven!
It all started with a late lunch at Nobu with all the usual suspects- yellowtail jalapeno, miso cod, rock shrimp tempura in creamy spicy sauce, sashimi salad, sushi (spicy tuna, yellowtail and eel rolls) and mochi ice cream.
After lunch, I headed back to the office to bang out a few things, and at about 8p I headed over to Koi.
