Danny Meyers and Chef Floyd Cardoz have taken their talents to the southern tip of Manhattan- Battery Park City. North End Grill is a casual, open, chic, modern resto stocked with a stylish dining room, vibrant bar area and open kitchen. The vibe and aesthetic lends itself to business lunches/dinners, gatherings for locals, and weekend brunch.
The American menu with eclectic and classic options delivers flavorful and skillfully prepared dishes. I was a big fan of the egg section. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Frank Prisinzano does it again- and this time it’s on the Lower East Side. Sauce is a great neighborhood spot serving up good homestyle Italian food in a casual, rustic environment fully stocked with a butcher on site and take-out window.
For the most part, the food is spot on and so are the prices. So it’s not a big deal that it’s cash only. It’s not the most comfortable dining experience because of spacing and volume of noise but the chandelier of silverware and open kitchen make up for it.

A diverse menu, great wine list and a low key vibe is what I experience every time I go to Tarallucci e Vino. It’s good for breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner, and is centrally located in the heart of Union Square. The chef delivers a robust Italian menu made up of small and large plates filled with gems for every meal.

Our first day in Paris was amazing! We took a break from shopping and sight seeing to have lunch at Le Comptoir du Relais located in the heart of the left bank- part of a 4 star hotel called the Relais Saint Germain.
The casual French brasserie/bistro has a great menu and it’s perfect for people watching. They don’t take ressies for lunch but it’s work the wait.

Whenever I’m in the mood for sushi (which is pretty often), and I want to stay local, this is my go-to-spot! The clean and contemporary aesthetic offers a chill feel, and the food is really good. The menu is quite broad with everything from traditional dishes, to fusion, to creative sushi rolls. Every time I go, I try to have something different but I must admit, I have a few faves that you shouldn’t miss!
Oh, and did I mention that the prices are extremely reasonable.
