Avra should be your go-to if you’re in the mood for great fish and attentive service in an upbeat, chic environment. The stylish resto in midtown features Greek favorites and Mediterranean specialties with a seafood focus. The two biggest draws for me are:
1. Al fresco dining
Dishin’ on where your favorite celebs are eating……
Lure – Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore feasting on seafood in Soho.
Monkey Bar- Marc Jacobs celebrating his CFDA lifetime achievement award with Kanye West, Liv Tyler and others.
Abe & Arthur’s- Russell Simmons celebrating a friend’s birthday.
Imperial No 9 – Jessica Alba nibbling on goodies from Sam Talbot at the Mondrian Hotel in Soho.
The upbeat and bustling dining room at Lavo is fully stocked with lively peeps (a mix of old and young), a resident DJ and a vivacious vibe. The energy in the room is just as big as the menu. You’ll find Italian standards like Baked Clams, Chicken Parm, Pasta, Steak and Pizza. The food is good, and the club downstairs gets poppin’! All and all, Lavo is a good midtown option. I’ve been to Lavo many times and it never disappoints (the kitchen stays open till 1a and 3a on the weekend)!
We went to Lavo last night with Milwaukee Bucks Guard Brandon Jennings and he loved the food and atmosphere.
These are the hottest tables (Sip, Chat, Chow APPROVED) in town for Valentine’s Day! Score a ressie at one of these spots and you’ll definitely impress!
